The JP Moser Hotel & Chateau Guide started in 1996 after Mr. Moser and his wife, Isabel, had traveled extensively and
frequently throughout Europe for pleasure. Having realized that people from all parts of the world needed a reliable
source of information regarding places to stay in Europe, they decided to become involved in the travel business,
Of particular importance were the exquisite properties, where everyone dreams to stay, which this guide specializes in. In November, 1996, Mr. & Mrs. Moser left Strasbourg, France and traveled by car, visiting places one by one in order to write this guide. They traveled non-stop for almost three years, visiting and staying at literally hundreds of hotels, chateaux and other types of lodging establishments, selecting only the best to be included in The JP Moser Hotel & Chateau Guide. The selection criteria was not always "chic and expensive", but above all, the places selected had to be "good" and recommendable, regardless of star ranking, although stars usually do and should be related to quality of service and standards. The JP Moser Hotel & Chateau Guide was published on the web for the first time in 2001, and included all the properties that Mr. & Mrs. Moser had selected from their initial trip. Since then, hundreds of properties have been added, always following the same criteria. The Moser's must approve them first before they can be featured in the guide. Others have also been removed from the guide possibly because they received negative feedback from visitors staying at the property after the Moser's last visit, or perhaps Mr. & Mrs. Moser themselves had the opportunity to visit the property again and found the same places to be unacceptable at that time. All properties featured in this guide have been selected by Mr. & Mrs. Moser personally. No one can pay to be included in the guide. This guarantees to the thousands of people who browse daily through the web pages of The JP Moser Guide that the featured properties are absolutely unbiased. If at any time the Moser's have reason to believe a place recommended in The JP Moser Guide has decreased in the quality of its installations and/or service provided to their paying guests, the property will be removed from the guide. When you send a request for a reservation through this website, it will go directly to the property and you will receive a reply written by someone from the specific establishment itself...not an automated reply.
